 THOUGHTS ????

TSA finds 81 pounds of pot in checked luggage

A female passenger tried to travel on Friday with three checked bags filled with marijuana.
Pot isn't at the top of the Transportation Security Administration's most-wanted list.
They're more interested in keeping explosives off airplanes. But if you pack your suitcases with 81 pounds of marijuana, TSA officers screening your checked baggage are very likely to notice.
On Friday, a 26-year-old woman was arrested at Oakland International Airport after the TSA allegedly discovered marijuana in her three checked bags, according to the TSA. The Jackson, Mississippi, resident was attempting to fly from Oakland to Jackson, Mississippi, via Phoenix and Dallas. "TSA screens every bag placed on an airplane, whether taken as carry-on or checked with an airline," said TSA spokesman Ross Feinstein, via e-mail.
If officers find something that's probably a crime, they refer it to local authorities, who can decide whether to arrest and prosecute travelers.
"As is common practice, TSA notified the Alameda County Sheriff's Office of the discovery, who responded and took possession of the marijuana," said Feinstein. "The passenger was subsequently arrested on criminal charges."
A small bit of pot might not get you in trouble, according to some security officials.
Some 81 pounds of marijuana in three separate checked bags? That's going to cause some trouble.

MDA'S MIND; what?! here we go, like i mentioned before if they would stop worrying about things not affecting people we would have a much better system here in America. PERSONALLY this lady was really really stupid, even tho it causes NO HARM to people, and there is not even one recorded death from marijuana, it still is illegal. sooooo just to try and bring three suitcases filled is kinda crazy, but hey im not mad at her. Im sure the TSA agents and police probly got some for themselves and are smokin good right now !!!

ps. i know plenty of cancer patients this could of been donated to, they all are hurting and the kemo is tearing them apart so instead of making them continue to suffer we could have gave them a little peace of relaxation for about an hour, mighta got them to eat a little meal. If anyone has ever had a loved one suffer threw cancer treatments i think they would agree.

Child Stars Destroyed By Fame

1. Lindsay Lohan

Born on July 2, 1986, Lindsay Lohan began her career in the spotlight as a fashion model at the age of 3.In 1998, when she was 11, Lohan starred as twins in Disney’s remake of “The Parent Trap.” After 2003’s “Freaky Friday” and 2004’s “Mean Girls,” Lohan became a household name and an acclaimed actress. She also became a massive target for the tabloids and paparazzi.
In 2006, Lohan attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and went to rehab for 30 days.
In May that same year, she was arrested for DUI, and two weeks later, she was arrested for cocaine possession, DUI and driving without a license. Things only got worse from there. In August of 2006, she pleaded guilty to various charges and was sentenced to community service, one day in jail, 3 years of probation and an alcohol education program. She entered rehab later that month, and stayed until October.
In 2010, after missing a DUI hearing, she was sentenced to 90 days in jail, of which she served 14 days, and 90 days of inpatient rehab, from which she was released after just 23 days.

In September of the same year, she entered rehab again. In January 2011, she was charged with the theft of a necklace from a jewelry store and served part of a 120-day jail sentence at home. In March of 2013, Lohan pleaded no contest to charges that stemmed from a 2012 car accident. She was sentenced to community service, lockdown rehab and 2 years’ probation.
She has been ordered to stay in therapy until her next court appearance in November of 2014. We can only hope for the best for this talented, but troubled, actress.

2. Jeremy Jackson
Jeremy Jackson, born on October 16, 1980, started his acting career at the age of six, starring in a successful Mattel commercial. Many, many commercials later, he beat out Leonardo DiCaprio and 3,000 other 10-year-old kids to land his iconic role as Hobie Buchannon on the wildly popular 1990s TV hit “Baywatch.”
baywatch“Baywatch” was the most watched TV program in its time and Jeremy was a part of it. Jeremy says he left the show because drugs gave him a crazed sense of self importance.
During his nine-year stint on Baywatch, Jackson released two full-length albums that garnered him two top-ten hits.
He also developed an alcohol and drug problem during that decade that gave him a self-admitted heightened sense of importance. Jackson’s story, unlike so many others, has a happy ending.  2000, at just 20 years old, Jackson checked himself into rehab. He emerged clean and has remained sober since, devoting his time to fitness, helping other stars beat their own addictions and marketing a successful clothing line.
He’s also appeared in several movies and played himself in the first (and only) season of VH1’s “Confessions of a Teen Idol.”
Jackson is currently an avid Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor, musician and DJ.

 3. Amanda Bynes
big-fat-liar
Amanda Bynes was born on April 3 1986. Her acting career began at age 7 with a television commercial for Buncha Crunch. She found her way into the spotlight shortly after that, appearing in various stage productions, including “Annie,” “The Secret Garden” and “The Sound of Music.”
From the late 1990s to the early 2000s, Bynes was a regular on Nickelodeon’s “All That.”
She starred in “The Amanda Show” from 1999 to 2002, and promptly embarked on a four-year starring role in the WB sitcom, “What I Like About You.”
After starring in several movies between 2003 and 2010, Bynes announced in 2012 that she was retiring from acting. That’s when things got weird, and fast. In March of 2012, she was ticketed for using her cell phone while driving. A month later, she got a DUI after an accident involving a police car. Five months after that, she was charged for two hit-and-run accidents. In September of the same year, she was caught driving on a suspended license. Just ten days later, the same thing.

Shortly thereafter, she was arrested at home for possession of pot, during which she threw a bong out the window of her 36th floor apartment, adding charges of tampering with evidence and reckless endangerment to the list. It all came to a head in July of 2013, when Bynes started a fire in front of a stranger’s house in Thousand Oaks, and ended up in a mental health treatment center. She was released in December, moved in with her parents and enrolled in the Fashion Institute for Design & Merchandising. On March 24, 2014, she posted a picture of herself and her parents on Twitter, attending a fashion show in Los Angeles, looking happy and healthy. Hopefully, this signals another happy ending.

4.Brittany Spears

Oh, Britney, where to begin? britney-spearsBritney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981. At the age of 11, she was cast in “The New Mickey Mouse Club,” joining pop sensations Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. She was on the show for two seasons.
In December of 1998, she was signed to Jive Records and released her first single, “…Baby One More Time,” which hit the top of the charts late the next year.
The overtly sexual video that accompanied the song signaled the beginning of the criticism that relentlessly followed Spears for the next decade.
The year 2000 found Britney with another top-selling album and a new boyfriend named Justin Timberlake. In 2001, Britney shed the last vestiges of innocence with her album “Britney.” She and JT broke up in 2002.
The famous Madonna kiss occurred in 2003, leaving no doubt that the virginal Britney Spears from “The New Mickey Mouse Club” was gone forever.
In January 2004, Britney spent two days married to her childhood pal Jason Alexander, and nine months later, remarried backup dance Kevin Federline, who left his pregnant girlfriend for her.

Two years later, after the birth of her first son, she was caught driving with the infant on her lap. She and Federline had another son in 2006, divorced in 2007, and Britney eventually lost custody of her two sons. Federline, who turned out to be a pretty okay guy, joined her on tour a few years later so that she could spend time with the children.
After her divorce, Britney went through a well-publicized party girl phase, performed disastrously at the MTV Music Awards, visited rehab a few times and shaved her head while the paparazzi snapped photos.
Spears, now 33, seems to have wised up and moved on from her turbulent younger years. She became an “X Factor” judge in 2012 and in 2013 released her 8th studio album, “Britney Jean,” which was met with mixed reviews.

5. Jodie Sweetin
Jodie Sweetin, forever imprinted in our collective consciousness as Stephanie “How Rude!” Tanner, was born in Los Angeles on January 19, 1982.
When she was just five years old, she joined the “Full House” cast and struggled for the next eight years with trying to fit in at school and live a normal life, joining the high school musical theatre and chilling with friends.
But after “Full House” was cancelled in 1995, Sweetin began drinking. In college, her partying led to a .9 GPA, and she soon moved home to her parents.
In 2002, Sweetin married police officer Shaun Holguin, and began experimenting with harder drugs, including crystal meth, ecstasy and cocaine.
After three years of serious drug abuse, Sweetin entered rehab. Partly as a result of her drug use, she and Holguin divorced in 2006.

MDA'S MIND; ummm what do i think ?? i think will all the spot lights and pressure on these kids they cant help but go a little crazy. but at the same time they are incriminating these folks over some weed, when literally 85% of the world is smoking on the ganja!! but let me not proceed into my feelings about marijuana, i think if they focused on bigger things than these child entertainers we might have sustaniable news on the tv..... just my opinion

The Dos and Don'ts of Swimwear Shopping

DON'T rush Trying on swimwear is like dating. “You might have to sample a lot of different types before you find The One,” says Romanowsky. “Give yourself plenty of time.”
DO shop alone Save your friends the agony. “It’s not the best idea to make swimsuit shopping a bonding experience,” Romanowsky warns. “Some things are better done by yourself.”
DON'T wear granny underwear “OK,” says Romanowsky, “this might seem obvious, but it’s true. You don’t want unnecessary bulk or weird lines under your suit.” Wear a thong!
DON'T forget the “Bend and Snap” Elle Woods’ signature pickup move in Legally Blonde works here too. “Try a standing squat to see if the back gives you a wedgie, check the back to make sure the edges don’t creep down, raise your arms to test that the top is secure, and bend over to make sure there’s no chest spillage,” says Romanowsky.
DO check the fabric: Once you’ve found your suit, she recommends pulling the fabric to make sure it’s got good stretch. “Suits made from poor-quality nylon will wear thin quickly,” meaning you’ll have to repeat this whole bikini-shopping process—who wants that?

@PSUdancergirl; DO stay away from carbs the day of. Bloating will ruin your day.

@girljen; DO remember that you're buying a swimsuit because you're going to do something fun.  You're going to the beach!  Or the water park!  Or the pool!  :D  Everyone else there will be having fun doing their own things, too!

@hawkeye; Ah swimsuit shopping... every girl's favorite activity.

MDA"S MIND: i literally HATE shopping (unless for shoes)  i dont know whats wrong with me. so anything i can do to shorten the process = #winning

Great-Grandma Prom Date: Teen Takes 89-Year-Old to Her First Prom

An Ohio high school senior had a great time at his prom earlier this month thanks to his date — his 89-year-old great-grandmother.

Austin Dennison, a student at Parkway High School, decided to ask his grandma Dolores to the dance because she never had a chance to go to her senior dance.

"[One of my teachers] told me that his older brother had taken his grandma to the prom," Dennison told The Times Bulletin. "I asked Grandma if she would be my date to the prom and she said that she would be honored. I told her that it would be my privilege. I've been blessed with grandparents and great-grandparents that know as much as they do. They have so many stories to tell. All I have to do is ask."

Dolores Dennison, who said she doesn’t get to see her great-grandson that often, was thrilled to be able to attend the prom.

"He said, ‘Grandma, I want you to go to the prom with me,'" she told the newspaper. "I had a bad heart attack and stroke. 'I'm not that good on my feet,' I told him. Finally I said that if I was able to go at that time, I would. He said again, 'Grandma, I want you.'"

The couple had a great time at the dance and even got to share a special moment on the dance floor.

"She is so funny. She was hitting the balloons with her cane," Austin Dennison told The Bulletin. "She is really neat ... When the music started to play, we danced on the floor. They played the Frank Sinatra song, 'I Love the Kisses of Delores.' Her husband [Edward] used to sing that song to her. There was a standing ovation when we came out."

mdas mind; this has to be the sweeetest thing i have ever seen! i love to see real people enjoying family !!! some of us dont have any! LOVE THIS!!!!

Tattooed Guardsman Sues Army for $100 Million Over New Ink Rules

A Kentucky National Guard soldier with aspirations of joining a U.S. Army special operations unit wants a federal judge to overturn the military's new regulations concerning soldiers with tattoos.

Staff Sgt. Adam Thorogood of Nashville, Tenn., said the tattoos covering his left arm from the elbow to the wrist aren't harmful, but the Army is using the body art against him and stopping him from fulfilling a dream of joining "The Nightstalkers," the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Thorogood's attorneys said the new rules are preventing their client from seeking appointment as a warrant officer.

Thorogood, 28, sued Thursday in U.S. District Court in Paducah, Ky., seeking to have the new rules declared unconstitutional. He is seeking $100 million in damages.

The regulations went into effect in March cover a variety of appearance-related issues including hair styles, fingernails, glasses and jewelry. The rules ban tattoos below the knee or elbow. Soldiers who already have the ink are grandfathered in. Under the new regulations, any soldier with tattoos is barred from seeking a promotion to warrant officer or commissioning as an officer.

"You've got a soldier who is about as gung ho as you get ... then you've got this regulation you read about on Facebook and you don't have a career," said Robin May, a Kentucky-based attorney who represents Thorogood. "That would be a blow."

May said the new regulations violate a constitutional ban on laws that retroactively change the legal consequences or status of actions that were committed before the enactment of the law. The ban also infringes upon Thorogood's free speech rights, May said.

An Army spokesman did not immediately return a message Thursday. In an online video posted in March, Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond Chandler addressed why the changes were made, saying appearance matters and should "be a matter of personal pride" to soldiers.

"The Army is a profession, and one of the ways our leaders and the American public measure our professionalism is by our appearance," Chandler said. "Every soldier has the responsibility to understand and follow these standards. Leaders at all levels also have a responsibility to interpret and enforce these standards, which begins by setting the example."

Tattoos have long been a part of military culture, but as they have become more popular, and more prominently displayed on the body, the various branches have been regulating them in to try to maintain a professional look. The Air Force bans tattoos covering more than a quarter of an exposed body part, under regulations revised in 2011. In 2006, the Navy announced that forearm tattoos could be no wider than a hand's breadth.

The Marine Corps has been cracking down on tattoos for years. In 2007, the Corps banned sleeve tattoos and those covering the leg below the knee.

Thorogood spent 10 years on active duty in the Army as a decorated soldier and sniper before switching to the reserves, a move that allowed him to pursue a degree in aerospace at Middle Tennessee State University and pursue certifications in flying planes. Attorney Ken Humphries said Thorogood's goal was to submit an application for an appointment as a warrant officer, which are usually technical leaders and specialists, and become a helicopter pilot.

Thorogood has 11 tattoos, including three on his left arm featuring a three-member sniper team, a second of skulls and the sniper logo of a serpent and spear and an ambigram of the words "Fear Is the Mind Killer." Once the tattoo regulations took effect, body art that Thorogood had before the regulations could get him charged with a military offense if he even applied for the position.

"It disqualifies a candidate for cosmetic reasons," Humphries said.
personally, i dont think it should matter if one of our brave soliders wants to have tattoos, shoot they really cant have much else when they signed their life away. at least let them express themselves. however i dont think he should sue for that large of an amount, i think it should be we let him in as is, cosmetics and all or let him go be a average american, where tattoos are accepted.
